On Oscar night, you don't want to spend the evening in the kitchen. Wraps can help!

Lights, Camera, Food!

It's a wrap!

It's the Academy Awards; hours of sitting in front of the television watching the stars go by. If you're like me, you have paper and pencil ready for writing down the winners and a hanky for those tearful speeches. Depending on what time zone you're in chances are the show will run during dinner and you don't want to be in the kitchen while it's on. Everyone else says they'll just munch on chips, dip and popcorn all evening. You want your family to eat something healthy but you understand this isn't the time for a full-blown meal.

Here are some tips:

• Not all chips are created equal; get the low fat kind or the corn types. Remember always read the ingredients.

• You can make your own dips with soup mixes and low fat sour cream.

• Yogurt makes a good snack.

• Grapes are the perfect snacking fruit.

• Raid the local deli and get antipasti, Greek Salad, and dolmades.

• Have everything ready so everyone can prepare their own sandwiches or wraps.

Wraps are the perfect snack/meal you can prepare everything ahead. This recipe makes two wraps - and you can change the filling to ground beef, turkey, or even mashed avocados.

SUN DRIED TOMATO POTATO WRAPS

Mash up potatoes. Add curry powder, salt, pepper, corn and peas and mix well. Put half of the mixture in the middle of one wrap and the rest on the other wrap. Fold the wrap around it. Serves 2.

Variation: Follow the instructions for the Potato Wrap but add Mayonnaise to the potato mixture. Shred one leaf of leaf or Romaine lettuce and mix in the potato mixture. Place in the center of the wraps and fold the wrap around it.
