From Kitty Litter Cake to Bloodshot Eyeballs, gross foods make any Halloween party a success.

Halloween is the perfect time for parties. Children and adults enjoy the fun of dressing up as ghosts and monsters and getting together to play games or watch scary movies. What better way to liven up a Halloween party than to serve gross and creepy food to guests. Try these easy foods:

Simple Pimples

Simple pimples can be made from cherry tomatoes. Simply core the tomatoes and filled the holes with a cream cheese spread. Squeeze each tomato slightly before placing on a serving tray.

Boogers on a Stick

Boogers on a stick are easy to make. Combine cheese dip and green food coloring. Dip a pretzel or small breadstick into this mixture to create the appearance of a booger. Arrange on a platter and serve.

Kitty Litter Cake

Kitty litter cake is another favorite. Bake one spice or German chocolate cake and another white cake according to the directions on the box. Allow these cakes to cool before crumbling them both and mixing them together. Store-bought or homemade cookies can be crumbled and added to the mixture for more realistic appearance. Line a new clean kitty litter box and add the crumb mixture. Put a few small drops of green food coloring into any remaining cookie crumbs and sprinkle on top. It had three or four Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Add these to the kitty litter pan and set the entire pan on a newspaper spread with additional crumbs.

Bloodshot Eyes

Prepare hard boiled eggs. Peel them and cut in half lengthwise. Discard yolks. Fill each egg half with cream cheese. And start a green olive into the cream cheese eyeball with the pimento showing. Using a toothpick and red food coloring to create a bloodshot appearance.

Bandaged Fingers

Prepare pigs in a blanket by wrapping Vienna sausages or hot dogs inside pastry squares. Bake according to the directions on the pastry container. Leave one end of the Vienna sausage or hot dog exposed. Create the appearance of a fingernail by affixing a slivered almond to the meat "finger" with a dab of cream cheese.

Other Ideas

Some specialty shops sell molds of the brain and heart. They can be used to make Jell-O brains or a cream cheese heart.

Fill a plastic skull with cooked spaghetti and add sliced olives, diced red pepper (roasted), and capers.

Add plastic worms and bugs to ice cubes or to decorate cupcakes.
