Kitchen Essential- Basil

Basil, both Italian and Thai are one of the most versitile herbs.

I use basil both Italian and Thai in just about all my cooking. Thai has a more pungent stronger flavor than Italian. Italian is more delicate to my taste buds.

I use Italian for:

• Tomato Sauce

• Strawberry salad

• Any green tossed salad.

• Grilled Red Bell Peppers

• Grilled Squash Italian Style

• Italian Tomato Salad

• On roasted, baked or fried - lamb, chicken or red meat.

• In some Mediterranean style breads.

• Calzone

  I use Thai for:

  • Anything in a coconut milk sauce.

  • Oriental stir fries

  • Grilled Squash Thai style

  • in all kinds of curries.
