Lists make planning your party easier, that way you don't forget the important stuff.

Some people don’t need lists, they can remember everything they need to do, most people need lists.

I always use lists for planning a party. I get great satisfaction writing them out and a feeling of accomplishment crossing out the tasks. Its great just seeing it all there. Always write the tasks in order of priority. If you don’t do everything on the list don’t sweat it so long as you do what’s important.

You will probably need more than one list.

Here’s a list of lists!

  • List of ideas for a party.
  • Invitation list with notes on who is coming and whose not and what people are bringing and how they are helping out.
  • List of helpers and everyone’s task, put this list up where it is visible to the whole family.
  • Food and drinks including information on when you will either make them or buy them.
  • List of ingredients to get – you may want to incorporate this list with the one above.
  • Day by day lists but again this could be incorporated into the lists above.
  • Miscellaneous lists for games, entertainment, decorations etc.

Get a bulletin board and put it up where everyone can see the tasks and don’t forget to cross off everything you have done.
