» Feature Writer Jacqueline Church - Cooking is a great way to get kids interested in good food

I've loved getting kids in the kitchen and found that their interest in food greatly expands when they've had a hand in preparing it. You can adjust the event to the age and interest of the kids but I've cooked with kids as young as four and as old as fourteen.

Whole wheat bread was fun. Imagine kids punching and kneading dough? Then asking their Mom if she could get this new kind of bread they discovered they like?

I got my kids in the kitchen as soon as they could stand. I ran a daycare out of my home and we made our own bread and kids loved it! So true. We used to make roti a simple flat whole wheat bread. But that's another article.
